Following the success of electrical resistance tomography (ERT) in the dredging industry, it became apparent that ERT’s non-nuclear technology would work well in any industry that involves the hydrotransportation of slurry. 

The mining and tunnelling industries were obvious candidates where ERT can provide a cheaper, safer, and more efficient non-nuclear option to the prevailing use of nuclear densitometers in both industries.

PFI has developed the i-Flow Smart Meter specifically for the unique demands of the tunnelling and mining industries to provide a fully integrated 3-in-1 panoptic production meter to measure slurry density, slurry velocity, and slurry bed height.
